Michael Owens
IT Director
Michael Owens serves as the IT Director for CENTURY 21 Mike Bowman,
Inc. and oversees the entire company computer network as well as the in-house software system, IBroker, and company website.
Michael is the author of The Definitive Guide to SQLite, available at Amazon.com. He was invited to speak at the O'Reilley Open Source Convention which brings together some of the top open source developers and managers from around the world. Michael has also written for the Linux
Journal, C++ User's
Journal, Dr. Dobbs and was featured in the Dallas Morning News.
A native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Michael
received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the
University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He received a grant for
postgraduate studies in chemical engineering from the Saturn Auto
Corporation. He has worked as a process design engineer for the
Oak Ridge National Laboratory and for the environmental restoration
program at the Department of Energy K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Prior to joining the company, Michael was a software developer
for Nova Information Systems, the nation's third largest provider
of merchant payment processing services, and the Electric Power
Research Institute for structural engineering design and analysis
software.
