Grapevine, Texas, July 16, 2010 -- To celebrate the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Ambassador Program's 10th Anniversary, CENTURY 21® Mike Bowman, Inc. sponsored one of six granite medallions engraved with a custom design which illustrates an important milestone in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport history at the new Founders’ Plaza. The medallions are permanently installed along the walkway of the main viewing area of Founders’ Plaza.

Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport’s Founders' Plaza was dedicated in 1995 as a tribute to the founders of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Their vision was to create not only an airport, but a major economic stimulus for the entire North Texas region. Founders Plaza was relocated so Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport could proceed with its innovative perimeter taxiway construction, aimed at cutting aircraft taxi time to terminals and increasing safety. Thanks to the efforts of the Airport’s owner cities, Dallas and Fort Worth, Dallas-Fort Worth employees and travelers throughout the world, the vision of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport founders has become a reality.

Over the years, Founders' Plaza has become a favorite place for families, aviation enthusiasts and Airport employees. The new site’s observation area has phenomenal views of the airport and a sound system so visitors can hear the airport’s air traffic controllers direct the more than 1,900 daily flights arriving and departing Dallas/Fort Worth. In addition, the plaza provides convenient parking, picnic tables, telescopes, historic information, a commemorative monument and a radio that broadcasts air traffic control communications from the FAA tower.
