City and Chamber Honor Graduates of
2008 Leadership Grapevine
Congratulations to Melinda Wright for her participation in Leadership Grapevine!
Grapevine, Texas—November 13, 2008—Today, the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce and the City of Grapevine honored 24 participants of the 2008 Leadership Grapevine program during a luncheon held at the Grapevine Convention Center. The graduation ceremony concluded this year’s 12-week civic leadership class, which supports a greater understanding and appreciation of public service in the Grapevine community.
“Leadership Grapevine is a great opportunity for the business community to learn first-hand about economic, civic and cultural activities that directly impact them,” says Kristine Amador, Chairman of the Board, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. “This program is also offered to all citizens and senior high school students who are interested in developing leadership skills for public service in our community.” “We have had such positive feedback from the participants that we will continue to offer the program again next year.”
Participants had valuable one-on-one time with city leaders and department heads throughout the program and were able to get up-to-date information that affects their local businesses and customers.
Additionally, after touring GRACE and learning about the needs of those less fortunate in our community the 2008 Leadership Grapevine class initiated a class project and donated over 9,000 diapers to GRACE at graduation.
